Pefakit® Reptilase® Time - 30 Test Kit

Pefakit® Reptilase®Time is a plasma based functional assay for the determination of the Reptilase® induced clotting time (Reptilase® Time, ReT) by a manual method or on a semi-or fully automated system. The ReT is recommended for the investigation of the last phase of blood coagulation. Reptilase, a thrombin-like enzyme, is isolated from the venom of the South American Pit Viper, Bothrops atrox. Like thrombin, Reptilase is used to investigate disturbances in fibrin formation. While thrombin time only detects fibrin formation disturbances of unknown origin, a comparative evaluation of the Reptilasetime and thrombin time makes it possible to further characterize the disturbance in question. Reptilase is not inhibited by heparin and may be substituted for the thrombin time in the fibrinogen evaluation in heparinized patients.
